adventures in clearance shopping

posted on August 7, 2008 in Designer Collabs, Sales, Target

It’s that time again, boys and girls. Time to play a game I like to call “Retail Roulette.” Rogan, Gryson and Subversive are on sale at Target, so I’ve thrown down my chips, said a prayer to the style gods, and clicked “Submit.” Get an extra 10% off with code EVW6WK7W and free shipping on orders over $50, though you’ll be hard pressed to spend that much as almost nothing is more than $15. Here are some of the items that appealed to me. I will post an update on fit/quality when my order arrives.

play time

posted on August 1, 2008 in Designer Collabs, Stuff We Like

I was browsing through the lookbook for Charlotte Ronson’s new collection for UO, Play, this afternoon and came across this chic little ensemble.

The plaid button-down is practically a classic at this point, thanks to Marc Jacobs and, most recently, a certain diminutive fashion icon and erstwhile child actor. However, Ronson’s slimmer, more feminine interpretation adds a maturity and class that your run-of-the-mill lumberjack flannel lacks. The combination of the slightly rumpled button-down, sleeves casually rolled to the elbow, with a high-waisted denim pencil skirt is equal parts Williamsburg and Westchester. The uptown girls would pair this with ballet flats or boat shoes, while trendier types would add high-heeled oxfords or booties. Shop the rest of this surprisingly sophisticated collection online or at your local Urban Outfitters.

richard chai for target

Richard Chai has been selected to design the next Target GO International collection, which hits stores August 3rd. As always, we’ll have to wait and see the pieces in person before we pass final judgment. The quality and cut of the GO International collections has varied wildly. Below are some of our picks. See the complete lookbook at Racked LA.
